Brisket Scones

Equipment

  • Grill
  • Hardwood Charcoal and Wood Smoking Chunks, if Desired
  • Stand mixer (preferred)

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup finely chopped smoked brisket
  • 1/2 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 8 oz cold unsalted butter (2 sticks) cut into 1/2 inch slices
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 1/3 cup buttermilk
  • 4 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp baking powder
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp fine sea salt

Brush On Glaze

  • 1 egg yolk
  • 3 tbsp heavy cream Can substitute milk
